Safe Space Workshop

Come Join Your Colleages on Zoom.jpg

The Safe Space is an open forum that encourages people to speak about their mental health and wellbeing.

It’s okay to not be okay!

Our drop-in sessions can be set up as a one off or periodically in-person or online via Zoom.

This is essentially a safe space for your colleagues to come together and be their authentic selves without fear of judgement or criticism.

The purpose of the workshop is to check-in with one another, form closer bonds with colleagues and normalise the conversation around mental health, learn new skills and acquire tools to take better care of our physiological and mental wellbeing.

Typical exercises included in these webinars:

A mindful moment as we begin the session to bring participants into the present moment, leaving behind what has gone before. This aims to leave participants feeling calm, relaxed and focused for the session.

Our signature wellbeing index check-in is an exercise to gauge the temperature (how they are feeling emotionally) of everyone present. We ask attendees to choose a number to reflect how they are feeling – on a scale of 1-10 (1 being very low and 10 feeling fantastic), with the opportunity to provide some context as to why they are feeling like a 7 for example. This sets the tone for the remainder of the session and aids participants to proceed in an empathetic manner.

Wordplay, we put up a selection of words on the screen related to the topic and ask each participant to choose one e.g. Happiness and give their perspective of what that word means to them in the context of Happiness and Wellbeing. Other words on this particular topic may include Sadness, Flourish, Engagement, Wellbeing, Relationships, Accomplishment, Distress, Positive Emotion and Meaning.

We would then delve in to the topic further (see list below) by giving an overview of how to achieve happiness and wellbeing using the theory of Positive Psychology. (PERMA)

The idea behind the session is to give everyone a sense of belonging and connection (community) in a time where we cannot be together physically, engage in office banter, go for a lunchtime walk or grab that after work drink with a colleague.

But we can check-in with one another on Zoom and see how we are all doing and learn some new skills to enhance our mental wellbeing and outlook.

Attendees can come to listen, be heard or just be present to the moment.
