Managing Stress and Building Resilience

Build Resilience, Connection & Positive Workplace Culture

We all accept that stress is a part of modern life but should we aim to alleviate ourselves of stress or embrace it? It’s
said that a certain amount of stress is good for us, as it can help motivate and propel us to perform. But too much
stress is said to have an adverse effect on our mental health, productivity, and can ultimately lead to burnout.
There is however a new school of thought that says we can thrive on stress and that no amount of stress is too
much. This is a very contentious perspective, but it is an increasingly accepted and talked about viewpoint, which
we shall consider in this workshop. We shall also take a look at helpful coping mechanisms available to us, as
well mechanisms to avoid, giving you the opportunity to re-evaluate your own methods of dealing with stress.
We will conclude with a list of top coping strategies and tools to help you manage stress and build resilience.

About the Session

This interactive session creates space for colleagues to pause, reflect and recognise the positive aspects of their lives and work. Through mindfulness, guided reflection, discussion, doodling and journaling, participants experience practical gratitude exercises they can take beyond the session and incorporate into everyday life.

Key elements include:

  • Mindful Arrival & Breathwork: A short grounding exercise to help participants pause, regulate, and arrive fully present before the session begins.

  • Wellbeing Index Check-In: Our signature check-in exercise, where participants choose a number from 1–10 to reflect how they're really feeling. It gauges the temperature of the room and sets an empathetic tone for the session.

  • Wordplay Conversations: A guided sharing exercise where participants choose from a set of stress-related words and reflect on what it means to them, opening up honest conversation around a topic that isn't always easy to talk about.

  • The Stress Container: A creative doodling exercise where participants map what's currently filling their container, the habits that cause it to overflow, and the outlets that help release the pressure.

  • Coping Strategies & Resource Toolkit: A practical, take-home list of healthier coping tools and exercises participants can keep using long after the session ends.
