Plasticine modelling Workshops

Steve is a freelance artist who has worked across several different art forms, including theatre/comedy and the visual arts using a variety of mediums and techniques.

He has over 25 years’ experience delivering art workshops to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Knowing how beneficial creativity has been to his own mental wellbeing, Steve believes in ‘art for all’ and finds a real sense of purpose in sharing his skills and experience and encouraging others to explore their own creativity. He encourages everyone (especially the ‘I’m no good at art’ contingent) to ‘have a go’ and experience the joy and sense of achievement we can all find in the simple act of ‘making’.

He is particularly interested in the health and wellbeing effects of art and creativity and spent 12 years working for the NHS, managing a specialist Arts in Mental Health project in South East London. He has seen first-hand, how participation can not only dramatically improve individuals’ mental health and wellbeing, but also, how it can help to bring groups and communities together and improve our overall environment.

After taking some time out to be the main carer for his 4 young sons, Steve continues to create his own artwork as well as now delivering his incredibly popular, fun and innovative Plasticine Modelling Workshops.

Whether by Zoom or in person, as a way of team building and connecting or switching off and de-stressing, Steve brings a sense of fun and enthusiasm to all his workshops which will be sure to leave everyone smiling!

Steve’s Plasticine modelling Workshops have proved incredibly popular and if had to be described with one word it would be simply ‘Fun’! He aims to create a relaxed, supportive environment where people can switch off from their day-to-day routine to enjoy some time becoming immersed in the creative process.

‘It was just fun playing with plasticine but the guy was really nice and explained everything well. Good chat.’

’It was fun and creative and not something I would ever have tried. The host was great also.’
